Entry into VR is cheaper than the marketing suggests, provided you spend in the right places.

- Headset generation: last year’s model tracks the same.
- Accessories: most bundles add plastic you will not use.
- Storage tier: cloud saves and fewer simultaneous installs.
- Subscription libraries: buy the two games you will finish.

Comfort. A cheap strap turns a forty-minute session into a fifteen-minute one. If the budget allows one upgrade, make it the strap and the facial interface.
The catalogue problem
VR libraries are thin. Before buying hardware, list five titles you actually want. If you cannot, the headset will be a demo device.
Buying used
Used headsets are viable if the lenses are unmarked and the battery is replaceable. Check both in person; lens scratches cannot be polished out reliably.
Bottom line: spend on comfort and games, not on the newest panel.
