A minimal setup is not fewer capabilities. It is fewer places to look.
The home screen
Two rows: phone, messages, camera, maps, notes, wallet. Everything else is found by search. A dock with a browser is optional and usually a mistake.
The apps
- One notes app with local search.
- One read-later tool.
- One password manager.
- One scanner.
- One music source.
That is the entire stack. Anything else is installed for a task, then removed.
Notifications
Only humans get to interrupt. Everything else is batched or muted. This single change recovers more time than any productivity app.
The rebuild test
If you lost the phone tomorrow, could you recreate this in twenty minutes? Setup that depends on years of accumulated tweaks is a liability.
Bottom line: subtract until it feels fast, then stop.
