Performance tuning is surrounded by folklore. Sorting it out means separating what the system manages well from what it manages badly.
What actually helps
- Removing apps that hold wake locks.
- Keeping ten percent storage free, since flash slows when nearly full.
- Disabling animations if the interface feels slow, which changes perceived speed more than actual speed.
- Restarting weekly.
What does not
Task killers, which restart the processes you closed. RAM cleaners, which free memory the system was using productively. Battery savers that throttle the processor and make everything feel sluggish.
The thermal point
Heat is the real limit. A phone in a case on a warm desk will throttle. Remove the case for long sessions and avoid charging while gaming.
When to replace instead
If the battery health is below eighty percent, replace the battery before replacing the phone. It is the cheapest performance upgrade available.
Bottom line: remove what misbehaves, leave the rest to the system, and treat heat as the enemy.
